APPLICATON DEADLINE: September 5th, 2018

EFAS RESEARCH FOUNDATION in cooperation with MEDARTIS and the EFAS Research Committee announces the call for the above mentioned 2 EFAS RESEARCH GRANTS. These grants will be given for the best research projects presented prior to the given deadline. To be considered, the grant application form (2 parts) must be completed and sent to the EFAS Secretariat at efasoffice{at}mci-group.com (only completed applications will be considered, applications sent through other channels will not be accepted). Please clearly indicate the name of the grant you are applying for.

The EFAS RESEARCH GRANTS will be remunerated according to the budget presented in the application form. Research projects can include basic science or prospective clinical research study in the area of Foot & Ankle Arthrodesis or any Foot & Ankle Disorders.

The following criteria and rules will be applied in consideration for selection:

  • The applicant and/or the senior researcher must be a member of EFAS;
  • The applicant must be the first author of the project;
  • The research project has to be original, it should not have been published or accepted for publication in any peer reviewed journal;
  • The research project has to be approved by a Medical Ethical committee, if applicable;
  • The authors must agree to report to the EFAS Research Committee at the end of the project or annually;
  • If the project is not finalized within the proposed timeline or deemed by the review committee as not approached with the expected committment, the authors will be requested to refund the grant to the EFAS RESEARCH FOUNDATION
  • The original outcomes of the research project will be published as abstract during the EFAS Annual Meeting and as full original publication in the journal of EFAS: Foot and Ankle Surgery: https://www.efas.co/content/journal ; After that, the authors are allowed to present their abstracts in other conferences or publish a second original paper in any other scientific journal. Presentations and publications are required to carry the notice of: “This study was supported by EFAS RESEARCH FOUNDATION-MEDARTIS RESEARCH GRANT”.

The research projects will be evaluated by members of the EFAS Research Committee.

Applicants will be notified about the results of the selection within a month after the closure of the call.
