The 12th EFAS INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS is a platform for professionals of all disciplines dealing with foot and ankle surgery and research to interact with each other for exchange of expertise and potential collaboration both in academia and in healthcare. Its theme State of the Art Foot and Ankle Surgery serving to share the latest scientific and clinical findings presented by international researchers and clinicians to the foot and ankle biomechanics and surgical community. The most recent development in this filed will be displayed, as will be enlightened surgical techniques with sharp videos, efficient conservative treatments, and most recent imaging modalities.
This year EFAS has invited two established international scientific foot and ankle societies, SFAS (Swiss Foot and Ankle Society) and KFAS (Korean Foot and Ankle Society) to share their knowledge with this vibrant community of surgeons, researchers and partners interested in all aspects of the foot and ankle pathologies and treatments. We hope to encourage a multi-disciplinary exchange of ideas amongst professionals from all professional backgrounds: surgeons, medical doctors, scientists, physical therapists, orthosis and shoemakers, and industry.

EFAS, through its EFAS Research Committee, announces the EFAS Research Award. This award will be given in recognition for the best research study presented during the biannual EFAS congress.
The best research study will be remunerated with 1500€, and the recognition through a certificate signed by the EFAS. The second and the third best research study will be recognized with a certificate signed by the EFAS.
Only will be considered the studies if the authors want their abstract to be considered for the EFAS Research Award at the time of submitting. To be considered, authors have to mark the corresponding box “Please consider my abstract for the EFAS Research Award” when submiting an abstract. Research topics can include basic science or prospective clinical study in the area of the ankle, forefoot, or hindfoot. Please find more detailed criteria for EFAS RESEARCH AWARD here.
